Pre-production Break Work - Music video

Song name: 'Rough Cut'
The audience: Young indie admirers who appreciate soulful acoustic music.
How it appeals to them: The gentle guitar playing and soft voice of the singer, help listeners to enjoy this light hearted melody.

Song name: 'Follow me'
The audience: From young students up to people in their 40's most likely enjoy this type of rock music.
How it appeals to them: The acoustic guitar playing adds a classic feel to the song and the slightly heavier electric guitar playing which starts half way through the song provides a 1980's feel to it; hence why people in their late 30's-40's may enjoy it.

Song name: 'Tonight I let you go'
The audience: Older generation of fans who enjoy pop music that you can dance to.
How it appeals to them: The upbeat song almost has the same feel as a calvin harris creation, its a fast pace song which once again has a 1980-90's feel to it.

Three Music Video's which I think are unique/inspire me

The unexpected and creative use of animation makes the video different from any others that I have seen before. It uses DVD covers to make a visual flip book effect, the experimentation using a typical every day object found in your home is innovative. The topic being discussed in the song is about valentines day (typically celebrated amongst 'youngsters' or people who are newly in love) and it conveys the story of love in an innocent yet still eye catching way.

The video in itself has no story in particular, but the concept of the song is about someone who craves attention. There is montage editing used in the video and all the clips consist of an individual london boy half dressed in school uniform, lost in his music, dancing randomly around london city. The message conveyed expresses that the youth of today crave attention- which is true. The video is unique because it has a rough gritty feel to it, yet it is still appealing to its target audience of teenagers.

The video is simple in the sense that there is no story being shown, however the shapes of triangles and arches in the background emphasise the artists themselves, showing the rock admiring target audience effective visuals that express the 'lost' feeling felt by the artists. It is unique due to its simplicity, use of graphics and animations. Aside from the lyrics, the plain colours in the video highlight the 'white stripes', representing the band.
