Production weekly reflection- week 12

This past week myself and Sam aimed and focused on finishing the music video and completing the majority of the digipak and magazine advert. This was the final week of the production stage where we needed to edit the final shots and complete the final designs. As usual Sam focused on creating the digipak and I made the final edits to our final music video

We both made the decision of reviewing each others progress, Sam pointed out the lip syncing was off at some points, which I agreed with but unfortunately time to film had run out and there was no way of re-shooting the parts where it wasn't in sync. The style of the video I was trying to create was a "dizzy effect". I felt this would be appropriate because it represents the feeling of being in and losing love. Sam and others who gave feedback immediately saw this representation when they reviewed the editing progress I had made.

I had a look at Sam's progress with the digipak and magazine advert and suggested that he should change the pictures where the typography is, this was because it was difficult to read and hard to see both the picture and the text. So sam replaced the graffiti wall with screen shots of him looking out to the clear blue and green horizon in the forest to make the written text a lot clearer.

I made the final few cuts and changes before sharing the video and exporting it to upload to youtube. There was a shot of Talha where he says "I love you", I allowed the shot to continue on for a second to show the empty space next to him, this was to represent as if he was saying "I love you" into an empty space and it wasn't being reciprocated by anyone. This of course was foreshadowing what happens later with in the video, the next shot after Talha was the imagery of Sam looking into the distance, I decided to flip this shot as there was a consistency of an empty space to the left hand side, to break this, I put Sam on the left.

This week my aim is to completely finish the music video for the deadline and help Sam complete the digipak and Magazine advert. This is our final week of production.

Production - final digipak design

We made all the final changes in the digipak, the text is now easier to read against the plain background and there is clear connection between the Music video, digipak and magazine advert. We added our own record company label to the magazine advert and digipak to give it an authentic feel, along with a production name/logo at the end of the video to enforce a professional undertone to the whole project.

Production weekly reflection- week 11

This week I am confident in my editing as I now have all the footage I needed to use to piece together in a chronological order. It was a lot easier to edit as I understood where certain shots would fit best. Unfortunately I was unable to remain true to the original shooting script plans, this was due to a few miscalculation in timing. Although the changes in shots and plans worked well for the video, for example; we initally planned to edit to the word on the lyric "how do you feel when your babies are naked and cold", but later along in the video. I felt as though the pace was slowing down a little too much, so I added in another point where I edited to the sylabol. Doing this was extremely difficult and it had to be timed well, once I accomplished doing so, the rest of the video felt a lot faster.

This past week on Thursday the 24th of November I also completed shooting the intrumental shots with Rajiv's guitarist who kindly allowed me to film with him, allowing me to fill the empty gaps with in my work. Sam has been editing the digipak and magazine advert together parallel to myself editing the footage together, we had a consoltation during this week and he reviewed my progress as I reviewed his.

Working with this method allows us both to work efficiently as well as on schedual, provding an opportunity for both of our opinions to take part but still give us both freedom to edit in our own styles. Where I lack in photoshop skills, Same takes over and my knowledge of Final Cut Pro is useful as Sam is less experienced in using the software.

I suggested he switch the images of the graffiti wall and the clear blue sky shots, making it a lot easier to read the text, to which Sam agreed but didn't change just as of yet. Sam watched the two minutes of the video I have so far and stated that it was coming along well, he did not suggest any improvements but encouraged me to continue working in the style I have. At the moment I have a collection of two minutes worth of music video, by the end of this next week I will hopefully have three and a half minutes worth.

Production- Feedback analysis

From the feedback I have understood that the range and style of shots is appropriate and I do not need to change my technique whilst filming. This is a relief as now I can focus on editing rather than worry about filming time as I already know what I need to do. However the lip syncing was criticised to which I will now modify the timing to make the words match Sam's lip movement. I feel as though the shots from Roxy Avenue of Sam in front of the brick wall should be re-shot, however we are short on time and need to complete the first target two minutes of our final music video.

As I have been working on the music video editing and Sam has been focusing on the digipak and magazine advert. The feedback is further accountable for myself than it is for Sam. I have taken careful note on what I need to improve on. For example I am now aware that "the narrative could be clearer in terms of whether if the artist is a part of the narrative of separate", as a candidate pointed out that Sam being involved in the shot with Soraya and Talha (the two actors in the narrative) was not clear. This was mainly due to the fact that there was not enough footage edited into the time line. Although to make it clearer I took out the continuity shot and forwarded it so that you can hardly see Sam in the background, but he is still subtly there. This little 'fun fact' would be incorporated into the bonus features included in the digipak.

Overall there was a lot of positive feedback and many people responded well to the colours and grading of the mise-en-scene. There was a suggestion to add more angles, but as already planned this will be added in later on in the video once I edit all the shots of Sam in front of the graffiti wall.

The only piece of filming remaining is of Sam in London city, on the Westminster walk way near Waterloo and the shots of himself in front of the Graffiti wall in New Cross. Once this has been filmed all the shots will be complete and I can edit chronologically rather than in the broken style I have currently been working in. I have been editing to the beat and according to the class feedback this is working well in the favour of 'Monocle City' by Balloon Ride Fantasy.

Production- Final Magazine Advert

We filmed in New Cross and as planned did a photoshoot of Sam in front of the 'metal door' spoken of previously in the pre-production section. We had a wide range and selection of photo's to choose from and instead of using the initial long shot of Sam, he decided to use a mid-shot. This was due to how the text was blending into the background and was hard to read. Upon changing our initial decision, it resulted in a clearer A4 advert.

Production- Initial idea for digipak

Myself and Sam discussed the flaws with in the first rough template, we realised the text was not readable on the grafiti wall background, so I requested sam replace the images of him in new cross with the images with him in the forest to make it slightly clearer. Also we decided to make the typography the same as at the moment we had four instead of two or three.

Production weekly reflection- week 10

The productivity during this week was split between Sam and I. I handled all the editing whilst working parallel, Sam took responsibility for the digipak and the magazine advert. I encountered few problems; although there were only a few, they had a major impact on the final outcome of the week.

One of the first problems was facing the issue of editing with out all the complete footage. This caused a lot of disruption in the chronological order of how I initially wanted to edit. I had to leave numerous gaps editing only with what I had. However we did resolve this problem and film the very last 'final major shots' we needed yesterday (20th November 2011). Sam and I travelled a one hour journey to New Cross and filmed all the shots in front of the graffiti wall and metal door. Though we only had a few shots to film, doing this took us one an hour and a half as we had to capture Sam from every angle.

I wanted to film Sam from different angles and heights because I planned to edit the lyric "how do you feel when your babies are naked and cold" to the word. Cutting to a different angle at every single word, to create a fast pace montage. Another issue I faced was finding a guitarist for the instrumental shots. I found it difficult to get a hold of Harry because of how little I saw him and there was hardly any communication. I took initiative and decided to resort back to 'plan b' in case we struggled with our guitarist. I asked help from Rajiv who introduced me to his personal guitarist, with whom we have booked a filming date on the 24th of November to film the third dimension of our music video.

During this week on Friday we received class feedback on the progress of our music video. We gained mainly positive feedback, but because there was such little there in regards to content, it was difficult for people to explain and be specific with their suggestion and opinion. I plan to ask for their insight again later during this following week, once I start using the footage from New Cross, London.

Positive:

  • Good range of shots and accurate filming.
  • Good camera movement and framing.
  • Cutting to the beat has been carried out well.
  • The idea of Sam ducking down and then coming back up again is creative.
  • Use of location makes it visually appealing.
  • The costume change works well with the style of the video.

Suggestions/Weaknesses:

  • The lip syncing needs to be timed better.
  • More shots are needed.
  • The pace of editing feels a little slow in comparison to the song.
  • The narrative isn't fully clear. Is the artist a part of the narrative or separate?
  • More facial expressions from Sam.
  • Camera movement too fast, the pans need to be slower.
After receiving all the feedback, I have planned to film the guitar shots with no movement to give the viewer a 'visual break' from all the constant panning. The aims for next week is to edit accurately and make Sam's lip movement match the song, to film the very last shots with Rajiv's guitarist, to edit chronologically and lastly to start adding more shots to the beginning of the video.

Production weekly reflection- week 9

During this week targets were not met as planned, we were unable to film on the 12th of November due to Sam's availability and the guitarist shots did not get covered because there has been lack of communication between Harry and I. Although I looked over footage which we can use for editing and the final product, Sam also created a rough template of the magazine advert. Unfortunately we are unable to create a final draft or template of our initial magazine advert and digipak plans because it all revolves around the graffiti wall shoot, which have not covered as of yet.

It caused a few difficulties when Sam explained how he was unable to film on the 12th of November, instead I began to do some research and started analysing another music video. I utilized my time by looking over my pre-production section and criticising it to understand where it is currently lacking. To improve my work I have planned to now add an analysis of a music video, a textural analysis of my own magazine advert and digipak plans/templates and a hand drawn coloured outcome of what our ancillary products should look like. Also, I have come to understand it is difficult to constantly watch video logs posted in my blog, so I shall be adding bullet points beneath them, for quick skimming purposes.

I aim to film with Harry during this week and get at least ten minutes worth of footage of him strumming a guitar. Sam also needs to find time to play the drums in the music department (we plan to do this in lesson time). The week was not as productive as we thought it would be, although individually I have been working on improving my blog over all. I plan to upload all the improvements and changes during this week, preferably by the 18th of Novemeber.
My aim for this following week is to begin editing and complete the final shots on the shooting script as it is beginning to get frustrating with out all the footage in our editing bin on Final Cut Pro, a software we will be using to edit our shots together. So far I have learnt how to upload footage directly from the HD camera on to the Mac, trim and cut clips together and add a few transitions and effects. I hope to gain more skills regarding Final Cut Pro during this week and then apply them to my work. I will be experimenting with the different tools and using them to create the planned effects.

Production call sheet 12th November

We were going to cover the final shots and complete our last most important filming session, however due to Sam's availability we were unable to film.

Production call sheet 5th November

We covered all of the neccessary narrative shots and completed what we aimed to shoot, however we had to change a few shots according to the weather and cold circumstances we were in; we changed shots 52, 53 and 54 to more appropriate angles and movement.

Production call sheet 3rd november

Sam was unavailable for the filming, so I went to Ilford with Soraya and Talha to complete the 'flashback shots'. The weather was very harsh and I was unable to film any scenes planned outdoors. I started filming a scene on the field but then day light began to fade and the rain made filming difficult. A few of the shots had to be reconsidered and I replaced them with indoor shots of them inside a restaurant, bowling ally and arcade.

Production weekly reflection- week 8

Last week I was unable to gain any response when I contacted Sam during the half-term holidays. This week my aim was to successfully communicate with him to establish filming days, which I did. We planned to film on the 1st of November2nd of November and the 3rd of November to cover shots of Sam in Hainault Forest, Studio shots and flashbacks that our narrative male has of the, "good times" between himself and his girlfriend. We obtained all the shots from Hainault that we needed, although due to the difficulty of finding a guitarist willing to film, we were unable to record any guitar playing at the forest. This makes me reconsider the location for the guitarist as it takes an hour for the journey to and from Hainault Forest and this proves to be too time consuming considering how the day light begins to fade at half-past four in the afternoon.

During the filming at Hainault forest, we had to change a few shots, such as Sam walking up a hill, lip syncing at the same time. We replaced this shot with him sitting on the hill with his legs folded up to his chest just as he had sat in our photo shoot. This was done because the outcome of the shots whilst walking up the hill were resulting too shaky and completely unusable; we thought about the photo shoot we had done earlier and what positions he had been photographed in, so we could later match the same picture with his position in the forest, to have a faint line of continuity between the digipak and Music video. Unfortunately we were unable to get a hold of Harry Maxwell to film at Hainault Forest with, so we have decided to change the location to the field, to save time and still have shots of a guitar player for the instrumental performance.

Before Saturday 5th of November, we had not covered a large portion of the locations listed in our shooting script. I am very keen on using all the locations planned to represent the artist, however I feared that we may need to change a few of the planned locations. The volatility of my partner has lead to difficulties in filming and I found myself filming alone on a few occasions. Filming alone left me insecure as I did not have my partners opinion to reassure me. My partner and I kept regular communication towards the end of the week when we needed to film the narrative scenes, which lead to a successful London shoot.

The development with the digipak and magazine advert has been progressing along with every filming session. Sam has been editing the ancillary products during lessons, to which I give my input and opinion. At the moment we only have rough templates because we need to complete the final 'metal door' shoot. Our byproducts revolve around pictures which need to be taken in front of the graffiti wall we planned to shoot in front of. We would have done this during the school week, however the location is in new cross; as it is so far, we have been unable to film there on weekdays and have planned to film next week Saturday.

The guitarist has been difficult to get a hold of, and we are thinking of reverting to our last resort of using Rajiv to help us. I will try my best to contact Harry and confirm a filming day with him.

Filming on the 3rd of November did not go to plan, Sam was unavailable to film with me and the weather was terrible. I made the decision to film the shot planned to have a mise-en-scene of a park, on the field. This was to save on time, complete the shot and still make it to Ilford on time. Upon reaching Ilford I decided to film solely indoor shots as day light had faded completely and the rain became heavier. I first went to 'Bollywood Bowling' to ask permission for filming, which after a short discussion they agreed to allow. I shot Soraya and Talha playing arcade games and then moved on to Talha teaching her how to bowl. Later, I had to once again ask permission to film inside the restaurant, to which a waiter agreed and allowed us to film. I directed Soraya and Talha to playfully feed each other, whilst they did this I experimented with camera movement. At first I started with a "shaky camcorder" effect, as if a friend was holding the camera, then I reverted back to panning as it requested in the shooting script.

The filming session on the 5th November revolved around filming the Narrative in London, to which Sam accompanied us on. Working with the chosen Actors was very successful as they are outgoing and confident. Resulting in absolute minimal shyness and shots which reflected emotion. There were a few issues, such as not being able to use the picnic blanket on the grass; it had been raining during the morning and the weather seemed too dreary and illogical to have a picnic in. Instead, I replaced the shots, 52, 53, 54 from the shooting script, of them using a picnic blanket with more mid shots and close ups as well as long shots depicting the mise-en-scene. The dreariness of the day ended up working in favour for us, as the grey weather added to the emotion and depressing effect of the 'rejection shots'.

There were florist shots which we had not covered but we ended up filming them at liverpool st station. At first we asked permission from the florist at the station who directed us to the national rail office to gain official permission from the manager. We had a 20 minute wait and discussion and eventually gained the permission to film at the station with the condition we do not obstruct any one.
The targets for this week are to complete the shooting script and film on the 12th of november along with beginning to edit and creating the final template for the magazine advert.

Production call sheet 2nd november

This filming date was not successful because Sam was unable to attend sixth form. Instead, I imported footage from the filming we did on the 1st of November, and worked on my blog

Production call sheet 1st November

The filming went successful, we arrived to Hainault Forest on time and filmed all the necessary shots. Although, we had to change a few shots as we found them to be too time consuming; it begins to get dark early in the afternoon near 5.30pm and we wanted to make use of the little sunlight appearing during the day. We changed two shots of him walking, into two shots of him sitting down, he sat in the same style as one of his poses from the photo shoot earlier on.

Production weekly reflection- week 7

This past week has been half term and so far this has been the week with the most problems encountered. The targets from last week were not completely met. The plans for this week were that we complete the majority of the shooting script and film as much as possible. We divided the filming into two days- the 27th of October and the 28th of October. We had the intentions of filming in Hainault Forest and also complete all the London shots in central near the Thames.

The first problem which arose was the weather, I was constantly checking to see if the conditions would be suitable to record in, when it came to the actual day, the raining was light, and filming could have been possible. However; Sam's availability was also limited on this day, as he did not return any response towards my communication. The following day unfortunately one of the actors, Talha, cancelled due to some family problems. I tried contacting Sam but he was unavailable so I took initiative and decided to film with Soraya myself rather than waiting for Sam to reply. I filmed what I could from the shooting script, as the day proved very limiting in terms of actors, help from my partner, weather and mise-en-scene.

I was only able to film six shots all together because there were hardly any moments in the shot list where Soraya would be by herself. I was disappointed as I was unable to film the desired amount of shots this week. I tried my best to communicate and get responses from all the actors needed, but unfortunately they were either very sparse in response or did not reply at all. I sense that perhaps I may need to find another actor to replace Talha as he is helpless in his current home situation, and another guitarist as Harry has not responded through any new media communication or any social networking sites. I fear that if we find another actor to replace Talha, then we will need to re-shoot the shots of Soraya on the steps looking at Talha's picture.

Initially I wanted to create a "behind the scenes" video which would be edited in my own time during the week but due to the circumstances of being behind schedule and problems faced this week, I don't believe I will be able to create the extra feature. At this stage it would be a wise decision to focus on what is priority and key in this project rather than worry about extra features which are unnecessary at this point.

We are behind with our filming but we are up to date with our pre-production tasks. I have managed to regularly upload what has been required. Over the half term our blogs have been marked and we will be informed of what is missing when we return to school on the 31st of October. If there has been anything that I have overlooked during uploading, my main focus will be to immediately create and upload.

This following week my targets are:
To get in contact with Sam and discuss a more suitable method of communication and planning so we can film on time.
To contact Talha and see if he will be able to help with the music production.
To find someone to replace Talha if he is not able to help.
To complete anything I may have overlooked in my own time and upload.

Production Call sheet 28th October

Once again we encountered a problem and Talha was unable to film due to family problems; also I was unable to get in touch with Sam, so I took action and decided to film the sole shots of soraya at her house. We completed a few shots but overall I did not get to film the amount of shots I initially wanted to.

Production Call sheet 27th October

Unfortunately we were unable to film as planned on this day because Sam did not return any communication over the half term resulting in us losing filming time.

Pre Production DigiPak Template

Unfortunately because most of our images on the Digipak are based around an area we have not filmed at yet, we were unable to provide an accurate demonstration as to how the final template will look. However we have filled in a very rough template with a few images which represent our artists brand.
I spoke to my partner, sam, as to how he would feel in adding a 'behind the scenes' bonus feature and a 'photo shoot special' onto the Digipak. To demonstrate an outline of what the 'Behind the scenes' feature would be like, I will film and edit a short example in my own time of what it would be like.

We have taken a little inspiration from James Morrison and his album cover, how he uses location to represent himself and how the bricks behind him help to emphasise the artist himself.
We admire the way the title of the artist is larger than the album name, but both are still relevant and bold to the person viewing the cover/advert. Even though James Morrison is not an 'indie artist' his style is mellow and unique, its  modern yet still separate from the crowd. We want to go for a slightly more trendy look but the provide the same sort of modesty in our Digipak as James Morrison has with his marketing.
I have noticed that the reason for the artists name is in bold is because Island records/Universal Republic want to make the artist name into a brand rather than the album name, allowing them to further market and use the name for other merchandise. People will associate the clothes and style on the pictures (left) with the name "James Morrison".
In the same way we will advertise and brand 'Balloon Ride Fantasy' rather than the album name or the song names.

Pre production weekly reflection- week 6

This past week myself and Sam created an inaccurate Digipak template and booked ourselves in for a photo shoot session in the media room studio. We had to create an inaccurate example of our Digipak and no example of our Magazine advert because most of our pictures were going to be based around the places we film in London. Due to the fact that we haven't filmed in those locations, we have used previous images from my Independent and further research into mise-en-scene. Once after we have filmed we will create another rough template of how we want our digipak and magazine advert to look, then we will begin to complete our final ancillary products. The pictures we have taken during this week will be edited as soon as we come back to school on the 31st of October.
Whilst Sam creates the final Digipak and Magazine advert in Photoshop, I will use Final Cut Pro to edit what we have filmed so far. We will work together at the same time on both projects so we can have each others opinion and consent whilst making a particular decision.

During the photo shoot this week we had a few problems, but nothing serious we did not overcome. The first concern was the lighting, which gave off smoke and made us one light short at first. The technician had a look at the light and made it usable long enough for us to finish our shoot. The second problem was dealing with the shadows created by Sam and all the lights. Majority of the time was spent trying to reduce as much shadow as possible, until we came to the conclusion that we can use photoshop to edit the prominent shadows out of the pictures.

An issue we ended up facing was how we were unable to use the photo shoot pictures for the rough template of our final Digipak or Magazine advert. This does not slow us down as we still have our initial hand drawn template to use as guidance, but it does put us at a slight disadvantage. We were helpless in the matter because we had planned to film and take more pictures during the half term holidays, and our entire marketing scheme for our ancillary products relies on the pictures from the 'London Filming' days, which we have not tackled just yet.

This following week we have our half term holidays, where Sam and I plan to film the majority of our narrative section in the shooting script. We have planned to film for three days, one day we will cover the narrative between Soraya and Talha, one day will cover all the shots of Sam in Hainault forest and hopefully if there are no difficulties and Harry Maxwell is free, we will cover his shots in Hainault forest as well of him playing the guitar (This can be done in the same day we film as Sam but to be on the safe side we have set another day aside for him.)
Harry Maxwell suits the look we are going for as well because he has a casual indie style to him which suits what we're aiming for. We will shoot the rest of the studio scenes with him and sam when we are back at school after half term.

Pre Production photo shoot for DigiPak and Magazine advert

We took numerous shots of Sam for the DigiPak so we have variety to select from when it comes to choosing the final picture. Our DigiPak mainly revolves around a metal doorway in the city which we haven't filmed at as of yet, so we cannot provide an accurate template of how we want our DigiPak to be.

The photo shoot was done after the deadline needed for our Digipak, unfortunately we were unable to use any shots below for the rough outline of what our Digipak will be like. Once we have the shots and pictures ready from our production stage we will re-do a template, which will be an accurate representation of our final piece.

Pre production weekly reflection- week 5

This week Sam and I experienced filming three of our shots from the shooting script. We encountered several problems during the week but we maintained a level of communication and resolved each situation as it came.

The first problem was writing the treatment; Sam and I had finished writing it together, but then faced an issue of blogger playing up and deleting the post. So we had to find time to re-write the entire post. Though this was not as time consuming as we already knew what to write, it was difficult to find time because of how our time tables were clashing through the week. We decided to complete the treatment after we finished our shooting scrip as it became our priority in the past week.

We had been struggling with the shooting script due to the detail we were going into, we had decided to plan out how we were going to edit whilst writing the shot list so we do not have to waste any time during our post production stage. This will be useful later on, however for the time being it was quite time consuming and long winded. We spent an estimated amount of three to four hours solely on our shot list, meaning we spent most of the week trying to complete one post. Of course independently we continued with our own work, Sam completed his analysis of music videos and I did further independent research looking for locations within London to film at. I managed to find a bridge which had an outlook to the London Eye, Big Ben and a city view of all the buildings. I took a few primary source pictures and looked into how we could film from certain angles. I am happy with the final plan of filming using the mise-en-scene of central london, I feel as though it will give the artist a softer representation.

Another problem we faced was having to decide our final guitarist. We both looked for some consultation and were told that a guitarist not strumming the guitar properly would be the equivalent of some one not lip syncing correctly. Since we were given the advice, we decided to go back to our very first option of using a boy named Harry Maxwell who has experience with guitars and musical skills. We have asked him to listen to the song and he claimed he would be available to film with us. Unfortunately neither same nor I know Harry on a personal level, so we are unsure about his reliability in terms of punctuality and enthusiasm; but from the feedback we have gathered about him, we have found that he seems an appropriate candidate for the task. We have very limited options to begin with, not using Harry would be an unwise decision and would lead to more time being wasted in looking for another guitarist.

We had a few conflicts regarding shots and ideas but we used compromise and after moments of incompatibility we came to mutual agreements. An example of previous conflict we have encountered was when we could not decide where to film the guitarist, Sam wanted to use 'forest shots' where as I preferred filming the instrumental based performance in a studio. To resolve this we decided to use both locations as there is not worry about continuity and we can be as montage as we please. I felt as though a 'proffessional' look to the guitarist would be more appeasing rather than just single shots of someone playing an intrument in the forest, it gives us variety and choice.

We filmed for the first time during this week and we made the mistake of not playing the song outloud as well as sam not singing outloud. We only filmed three shots which could be easily refilmed but we will still experiment with using the footage already recorded. We decided to film at all the locations closest to us first, so far we have been to roxy ave and later this week we are making plans to go to hainault forest to shoot a few more guitarist scenes as well as lyrics. We also plan to book out the studio to take pictures of Sam and Harry. Another benefit of using Harry is because he matches the second member of the group very well, Balloon Ride Fantasy is made up of two ginger haired men, both Sam and Harry are also ginger.

Pre Production Further independent research

Once again I went to London to find an appropriate bridge to film on. I crossed several bridges until I came across a walk way over the Thames, opposite embankment station, just before waterloo bridge. It had the view of the London Eye, Big Ben and the rest of London City. It seems like the perfect mise-en-scene to use not only due to how convenient the path is in itself, but also because it gives a clear view of London.

The view above is a primary source picture which I took at the location demonstrated by the map below.

The location shows two major key monuments such as the Big Ben and London Eye which are both famous all over the world. By filming here we would be "killing two birds with one stone", the single location instantly provides a strong sense of where the artist has been born and bread and by using shots of suburban streets we represent how made it from one side of London, to the other.

The railings along side the walk way are easy to film along and manoeuvre the camera over; also it is perfect for a shot of Sam leaning over looking out to the view of London as we have planned in our pre-production.

Although, by only closely observing one set of railings I feel as though it limits ourselves. I looked at another location with railings (close to the the walk way) where the view of london is still clear and people use to lounge about. We could have a few shots of Sam singing lyrics whilst sitting in front of the rails connoting he is no different to anyone else in the world.

For the narrative I found this grassy spot near the tower bridge which has a beautiful view of the Gherkin. Unfortunately, because it was dark, it was difficult to see it and the pictures I took with my low quality camera constantly came out blurry, however I did manage to get shots of the tower bridge lit up, which would be the view between the couple in our narrative story. At one point there will be a shot of Sam Coleman sitting in between the couple as if he were invisible to them whilst they have a moment of dramatic tension.
